Trona Pinnacles, January 2017.

I wanted to get the Milky Way behind the pinnacles in Trona and this seemed to be a perfect setup. I got this camera set up early and used GPS to navigate between that and the Jeep (because once it got dark out here, it got dark). While I was waiting for the Mikly Way to show up over the horizon, I read that it's not actually visible during the winter months, I believe because it's too close to the sun in the night sky. I'm stll happy with the result ... the light from the long-ago-set sun adds some much needed color and balance.
